This project explores the feasibility of building complex digital geometries using conventional fabrication techniques. It examines how AR can streamline construction, ensuring accuracy without traditional templates.
A Unity-based mobile app and Microsoft HoloLens 2 provide real-time assembly guidance, overlaying 3D models onto physical work surfaces. Fabricators use AR to follow precise curves, angles, and alignments, improving efficiency in tasks like steel pipe bending and welding.
By integrating parametric modeling with interactive AR visualization, Free Form demonstrates how digital tools can enhance fabrication accuracy, reducing errors while maintaining design integrity.
